Shepherding the flock of God is an enormous task, but to faithful pastors it brings the rich reward of the unfading crown of glory, which will be awarded by the Chief Shepherd Himself at His appearing (1 Peter 5:4).
The heart of a pastor embraces all aspects of the life within a congregation. They share the joy with parents over the birth of a child, as well as the pain of children over the death of a mother or father. They celebrate at a wedding; and offer comfort at a funeral. There are no office-hours but you can count on unpredictability in this calling. It is at those times that our pastor goes beyond his sermon to stand in the gap for God in the lives of His people.
