Johannes Kepler

Johannes Kepler

Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) was born in Germany, just twenty-five years after the death of Martin Luther.  He developed a love for astronomy at an early age.  Kepler is best known for discovering the three mathematical laws of planetary motion (“Kepler’s Laws”) that established the discipline of celestial mechanics. He also discovered the elliptical patterns in which the planets travel around the sun.  The one thing he wanted to be in life, was a pastor.  But God used his gifts for another purpose, and to bring Him glory as Creator of the universe.
